    Scope

    The following terms and conditions of business apply for all electronic orders transmitted to us and must be recognised and accepted by you with every order. The Tariff conditions (Tarifbestimmungen) as well as the Carriage conditions of VOR (Beförderungsbedingungen) and the Ring Tram conditions (Verkehrsregeln) in their currently valid form are contractual elements and remain hereby unaffected.

     

    Contract Conclusion

    Clicking the button "Add to shopping cart" in step 5 (Verify) of the ordering process creates a legally binding service contract between you and Wiener Linien GmbH & Co KG, Erdbergstraße 202, 1031 Vienna.

    The customer and contract information will be saved for billing and for the creation of subscription agreements, and it can be viewed at any time via the online access or customer login under the item "Personal data" and "My orders".


    Contract Language

    The language for all contract, order, business and complaint matters is German.

     

    Prices

    The tariffs in accordance with the Tariff conditions (Tarifbestimmungen) of VOR and the Ring Tram conditions (Verkehrsregeln) in their currently valid form will exclusively apply.

     

    Shipping and Shipping costs

    When ordering a tickets which cannot be printed (except the Vienna ticket) we will charge a fixed shipping fee of € 7,00.
    When ordering the Vienna ticket we will calculate shipping expenses based on the Vienna Card Coupon Book which is enclosed in every ticket:

    1 - 3 books € 7,00
    4 - 6 books € 10,00
    7 - 9 books € 13,00
    10 - 15 books € 16,00
    16 books or more € 21,00


    When ordering merchandising products we will charge shipping fees between €2,00, € 5,00, € 7,00 (national) and € 15,00 (international).

    Yearly travel card orders and merchandise orders over an order value of €200.00 will be shipped free of charge, unless otherwise arranged in the respective ordering process.

     

    Payment Terms

    Ordered products are invoiced in euros. Payment is made in the same currency in advance during the ordering process by credit card or bank transfer (eps Onlinebanking). Subscription orders (yearly travel cards) can also be paid for in monthly installments via the SEPA direct debit system.

     

    Place of fulfilment

    Fulfilment for all business activities is the company location: Erdbergstrasse 202, A-1030 Vienna.

     

    Delivery

    When the ordering procedure has been completed, you can print out tickets by clicking on the button "Download ticket here". In addition, you will immediately receive tickets via e-mail and you can store them or print them out. Tickets will not be sent by post with the exception of:

    • Senior citizen tickets
    • Strip tickets for 4 journeys
    • Strip tickets for 4 journeys half-fare
    • Travel card "24-h Vienna ticket"

    • Weekly ticket

    You are personally responsible for ensuring that tickets are printed out in such a way that all information is complete and easily legible and checkable. Especially all tickets have to be printed out in original size. Tickets that cannot be checked during the course of a ticket inspection are invalid within the terms of Point 1./E. of VOR's Tariff conditions(Tarifbestimmungen) in their currently valid form.

    Tickets to be printed out or display on suitable mobiles are not transferable and are only valid in combination with the form of photo identification stated on the ticket (passport, company identity card, driving licence) or with an official photo identification issued in Austria.

     

    Instead of printing them out on paper, the tickets listed in the following can be downloaded onto a suitable mobile telephone (e.g. via App for Android Smartphones and iPhones or for Blackberrys and other mobiles via URL using a suitable mobile internet browser) and can thus also be carried as a valid ticket.

     

    Tickets purchased via the "Mobile Online-Ticketshop" are displayed directly on your mobile phone after the completion of the ordering process.

     

    It must be noted that displaying the ticket on the mobile telephone is only possible via the login of the person registered in the ticket shop. Should a ticket be ordered for a different person, then this will also be displayed on the mobile phone of the registered user. If the mobile is not suitable for displaying tickets digitally, then the paper form of the ticket must still be carried. Care must be taken to ensure that the ticket on the mobile is displayed correctly and legibly and is presented together with the specified photographic ID for a ticket inspection.

     

    The software necessary to use the mobile display is provided free of change by Wiener Linien. You can find more information on this at "Your solution for displaying tickets on your mobile"! Furthermore, we explicitly highlight that costs, which are dependent on the terms and conditions of your mobile telephone supplier, may arise as a result of the receipt of data packages. Please ask your mobile telephone supplier about the possible costs which may arise for a data download (also roaming charges).

    The Vienna ticket cannot be printed-out by you; you will receive the Vienna ticket by post in a registered letter, delivered to the address stated by you.

     


    Delivery – tickets

    After completing the order process, the tickets that are designated with the printer icon can be printed out immediately with the button "Download ticket here". You will also promptly receive an e-mail with an order confirmation and a link for downloading the tickets, which you can then save and print out. The online tickets designated with a printer icon will not be sent by ordinary mail. You are responsible for printing out the tickets in such a manner that all of the information is completely and perfectly legible and verifiable. It is especially important to print the tickets out in their original size. Any tickets that are not completely legible and verifiable during a ticket check shall be deemed invalid under Art. I./E. ("Invalid Tickets") of the VOR [Transport Authority of Eastern Austria] fare regulations, as amended.


    Wiener Linien will provide the necessary software at no extra cost for displaying tickets on a cell phone. You can find more detailed information on this under "Your way to ticket display on your cell phone"! We expressly point out that the receipt of data packets is not free and that fees will vary depending upon the terms of your cell phone service provider. Please ask your cell phone service provider about potential fees (including roaming charges) associated with a data download.


    Delivery – yearly travel cards subscription

    Yearly travel cards – merchandise items are generally delivered to the specified delivery address within five business days counting from the receipt of payment or in the case of SEPA direct debit orders, after transmittal of the signed order form.


    Cancelation, return, and exchange

    Tickets offered as online tickets to be printed out or displayed on a cell phone cannot be canceled, exchanged, or repurchased. Under section 5f subsection 1 line 7 of the Austrian Consumer Protection Act (leisure time services) there is no right to cancelation.


    The fare regulations of the VOR and the traffic regulations of the Ring Tram, as amended, apply to the repurchasing and exchange of yearly travel cards and other tickets (except online tickets to be printed out or displayed on a cell phone).


    For purchases of merchandise items, you may cancel the concluded contract or withdraw your declaration of willingness to enter into a contract within 14 days, without having to give reasons for doing so. The cancelation or withdrawal must be declared in writing (e.g., letter, e-mail, or fax) or is effected by returning the merchandise. In the event of an effective cancelation or withdrawal, the mutually received performances must be returned in full. If you are cannot return the received performance to us at all or can only return it partially or in a state worse than the one it was in when it was sent to you, you shall be liable for paying the discrepancy in value.

    The cancelation or withdrawal shall be addressed to: Wiener Linien GmbH & Co KG, Erdbergstraße 202, 1031 Vienna.

     

    The following tickets cannot be printed out:

     

    • Ticket for a single trip
    • Half fare tickets for 2 journeys
    • Senior citizen tickets
    • Strip tickets for 4 journeys
    • Strip tickets for 4 journeys half-fare
    • Travel card "24-h Vienna ticket"
    • Travel card "48-h Vienna ticket"
    • Travel card "72-h Vienna ticket"
    • 8 days Vienna ticket
    • Weekly ticket
    • Monthly ticket
    • Yearly travel card
    • Vienna ticket
    • Ring Tram - full price (1 round)
    • Ring Tram - reduced ticket (1 round)

    All of the above tickets will be sent to you by registered post to the address provided by you.

    Semester Travel Cards Online

    Season tickets at the high school student price are monthly travel cards and semester network travel cards for students enrolled in academic institutions subsidized under section 3 StudFG (Austrian Student Support Act).
    Because these tickets are monthly and semester travel cards subsidized by the City Of Vienna and the BMVIT [Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology], they can only be obtained upon presentation or verification of the documentation required in each case for establishing eligibility (e.g., confirmation of enrollment, residence registration form, etc.).

    The eligibility requirements must be fulfilled not only when the ticket is purchased but also when the validity period starts. Wiener Linien expressly reserves the right to demand the return of the ticket and to take further legal action should you commit perjury in order to obtain a monthly or semester travel card to which you are not entitled.


    Yearly Travel Card (Subscription Services) Online

    With the Subscription Service (Abo-Service), we are offering you another modern service for the independent and automation-supported ordering and management of yearly travel cards, for changing basic customer data, and for viewing your customer account. As a current yearly travel card customer, in just a few steps you can register with the Subscription Service, i.e., set up an online access, and view your subscription and customer data. We must point out that this is a self-service and that the user is solely responsible for the correctness of the information and for uploading a proper and easily recognizable photo. The use of this service is audited and under the VOR fare regulations and transit terms in effect, improper use thereof may lead to complaints and to your online access being blocked and to you being barred from using the Subscription Service.


    Liability

    We shall hold you liable for any damages resulting from false statements made when using our online service.


    If you intentionally commit perjury or fraud, we shall permanently bar you from using the Ticketshop https://shop.wienerlinien.at.


    Owing to the technical conditions necessary for internet services and telecommunication, we cannot guarantee interruption-free availability of either the Ticketshop https://shop.wienerlinien.at or of the associated Ticket – App´s. You may not hold us liable if the Ticketshop and the Ticket – App´s are not available.


    We accept no liability for the accuracy and completeness of the information presented herein.


    Should individual provisions be or become infeasible, this shall not affect the feasibility of the remaining provisions.


    Miscellaneous

    Austrian law shall apply under exclusion of the conflict-of-law rules of International Private Law and of the UN Sales of Goods Law.

     

    The legal venue is Vienna.

     

    Under sections 88, 89, 93 subsection 2, and 104 subsection 1 JN (Austrian Court Jurisdiction Act), the legal venue for all disputes arising in connection with this contract against a consumer having his/her place of residence, normal domicile, or place of employment domestically shall be the court of the district where the consumer has his/her place of residence, normal domicile, or place of employment. This does not apply to legal disputes that have already occurred. For any future legal disputes arising from this contract, the mandatory provisions of the consumer law of the consumer’s residence may also apply.
