Semester Tickets and Holiday Monthly Tickets also available online! This service available at any time from your own PC was ultimately made possible through the implementation of several interfaces, and the cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Education and Women´s Affairs (BMBF), the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy (BMWFW), the Federal Computing Centre (BRZ), Graz Technical University, and the respective educational facilities:
This is how online verification works:Semester Tickets are subsidised by the City of Vienna and the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology, which is why eligibility is subject to certain conditions. For this reason, the required documents/data proving eligibility are even verified when purchasing online. Verification will only take place with your express consent via online data cross-referencing against the details you provided to the student enrolment office. This verification process via secure SSL encryption does not involve any data being passed on to us by the Federal Computing Center or the study facility and only confirms whether the queried data are correct or not. The purchase of the Semester Ticket can only be transacted once the correctness of data has been confirmed.
Important:At the time of the order, the student must already be enrolled for the chosen semester, and the data required for verification (student ID number, name, first name, date of birth, post code and city) as held by the educational facility must be completely identical with the data entered in the Online Shop. Please also ensure that the spelling of special characters such as "Ä" = "AE" or "ß" = "SS" and/or the hyphenation of double-barrelled names are consistent (if necessary, try both versions). The student status as required for verification is only attained once the ÖH contribution or applicable tuition fee has been paid and received by the university (please allow 2-3 days for banking procedures).
Please note that due to the fact that the data needs to be synchronised between the educational facilities (University of Vienna, TU, BOKU, Medical University, University of Applied Arts, VetMed, Academy of Fine Arts, University of Music and Fine Arts, Vienna University of Teacher Education, University of Teacher Education of Lower Austria, Ecclesiastical University of Teacher Education Vienna/Krems, University of Teacher Education of Agricultural, University of Teacher Education of Burgenland) and the Federal Computing Centre (BRZ), data verification, and therefore the ticket purchase, may only be possible on the next day.
Further important hints:Pursuant to Section 3 StudFG, tickets for students, who are regular students of a course of studies, are valid until the respective semester (as per the end of semester on 31 January or 30 June, respectively), during which the user turns 26 years of age. The respective eligibility conditions must be met at the time of the ticket purchase. If, as a result of incorrect details, a Semester Ticket was issued without eligibility basis, transport provider Wiener Linien explicitly reserves the right to take further legal steps and to recover any monies due. In case of a retrospective check, an original confirmation of registration must be submitted on request.
